Brand-New Mazda CX-8 Diesel has achieved the maximum five star safety rating from the Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), to maintain five stars across the entire Mazda range.

Tested according to the stringent new standards set by ANCAP, Brand-New Mazda CX-8 Diesel performed strongly across all criteria to achieve the highest possible safety score from ANCAP.

ANCAP Chief Executive, James Goodwin, said that it is encouraging to see the Mazda CX-8 to step up as one of the first vehicles and achieve five stars against the increased standards.

Launched in Australia in June 2018, Brand-New Mazda CX-8 Diesel incorporates the latest in Mazda’s advanced i-ACTIVSENSE safety technologies, with the bulk deployed as standard from the entry grade Sport to the top range Asaki.

The high grade Asaki adds even more equipment, including Mazda’s new 360° View Monitor, front parking sensors, Adaptive LED Headlamps (ALH) and advanced keyless entry.

A number of designed-in, passive safety features further strengthen Brand-New Mazda CX-8 Diesel’s safety, including a high-strength SKYACTIV-Body, which effectively absorbs and disperses impact forces from the front, sides and rear to suppress cabin deformation in the event of an accident.

Brand-New Mazda CX-8 includes six airbags, including curtain airbags that extend protection to the third row.

The five star ANCAP rating applies to all variants of the Brand-New Mazda CX-8, including entry grade Sport and the range-topping Asaki.
